EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Extra-curricular activities take place at lunch-time with a few being held after school. Examination preparation classes are considered essential, but a variety of other optional activities or "clubs" are offered each term. They range from debating, film club, art and ceramics, chess, karate and judo, ballet to puppetry. Some of the senior pupils are also involved in the Duke of Edinburgh Award and Young Enterprise Schemes.

13+ Common Entrance and Senior pupils are also offered some post-examination activities in the Summer term. Past opportunities have included a residential Outward Bound course and have work experience.

Extra-curricular activities begin a couple of weeks after term has started and finish a week or so before the end of term. These options either take place during lunch break or from 3.40 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. (some options may finish later). Pupils receive a list of activities that are available each term.  Most activities are free of charge, however a nominal charge may be made where specialist tutors or equipment are brought in. Once a pupil has committed to a club or activity, we expect them to attend regularly.
