Photography

Advanced Level
Photography is offered at the Harrodian only at A level and is treated very much as an Art, indeed the subject is classified within the suite of Art and Design. Students will gain an understanding of the mechanics and principles of SLR based photography, both in the chemical and digital mediums. The subject has recently broadened its scope to include video work so providing a truly modern option for the exploitation of artistic ideas.

Students work in their own suite with a dedicated Macintosh computer and photographic studio. Results and expectations are high. The student is expected to furnish their own camera for the course, information about which is available upon request.

Each year the students tackle two units of work, one chosen by the candidate which best reflects their interests, the other from a selection offered by the examination board.
