From Christmas to Quizmas

Harrodian Pre-Prep pupils enjoyed a fun and festive end to the Autumn Term. Our annual Christmas Fair, organised by the Parent's Association (HSPA), kick-started the seasonal celebrations in style. There were some new and exciting additions to the day, including a pantomime for the younger children in the auditorium, a bucking Christmas pudding ride and an inflatable energy zone.

Santa's grotto was also a magical experience complete with snow, elves, a winter cabin and roaring fire! As the month of December continued, our Pre-Prep children were kept busy rehearsing their Christmas production, Quizmas. This year's show was the result of a brilliant collaboration between Ms Horan, Head of Pre-Prep, and Mr Huelin, Music. Ms Horan wrote the script and lyrics while Mr Huelin composed all the music. Our PP3 children played the lead narrators and main characters, whilst all of the other Pre-Prep classes had the chance to sing a song and dance. In their class groups they performed as funky reindeers, elves, cool camels, crackers, snowmen and traditional nativity characters.

This year's production was a huge success and greatly appreciated by audiences, young and old alike. After their show, Pre-Prep children attended the Harrodian Carol Concert and members of the choir (from PP2 upwards) performed on stage in the Church too. The penultimate day of term was celebrated with a Christmas lunch and a visit from Santa, who landed his sleigh on the School roof and then made his way around each of the classes to deliver presents. With real snow on the ground, it was a truly memorable and magical term for the youngest members of the Harrodian community.
