A: When it's for charity: one of  the prizes offered to parents in the auction for the Bursary Fund at Harrodian’s 25th Anniversary Ball back in May was the unique opportunity to replace Mr Hooke as Harrodian Head for a Day.

The Headmaster delivered Harrodian’s side of the bargain this week by installing the three children of the generous, successful bidder as a ‘triumvirate’ that ruled over Harrodian throughout Tuesday 16th October.  6.%20Prep%20assembly%20-%20music%20certificate%20giving.jpg

The three lucky ‘Heads for the Day’ – Blake (from PP2 TPE), Bella (PP3KYL), and Misha (10 CEA) – certainly had a busy day.  After a Prep Assembly at which they presented certificates for musical achievement to pupils, as well as joining the choir for a musical interlude, the trio embarked on a day-long tour of the school.DSCN0785.jpgTheir demanding schedule included meetings with Mrs Locke, Deputy Head of the Schools, Mr Ferte, Director of Operations, Head of Sport, Mr Proudfoot (above), the School Security and Admissions teams, the Estate Manager, Mr Wicks  and the Head Boy and Girl, as well as a trip around the perimeter of the grounds on the School Golf Buggy. DSCN0827.jpgThey also enjoyed a History lesson observation and lunch and a dining room duty in the company of Mr Hooke.DSCN0830_0.jpg The day concluded with a presentation of certificates and photographs to Blake, Bella and Misha at which they delivered some provocative suggestions for improvements to the school timetable (‘one more playtime per day’ and ‘more sport’) and came up with an original new charity proposal. ‘We should have a 'Monthly Mufti' with boys and girls contributing two pounds to take part and competing for the prize of being the smartest person in assembly,’ suggested Bella. DSCN0818_0.jpgIMG_8971.jpg
