Mindfulness and Wellbeing

Harrodian has become a well-known centre for Mindfulness. We have a dedicated mindfulness studio where training courses are held by experts for teachers, parents and other members of the local/wider communities.

Mindfulness encourages us to relax by focusing on ‘being in the present moment’ while calmly accepting our feelings. This may come more naturally to young children but they still often need help acknowledging, recognizing and accepting the feelings they have.  This is where teachers trained in using Mindfulness as a technique can support them.

As children grow up, they can become more sensitive and prone to anxiety, thus finding it harder to tune in to Mindfulness. To help, we offer our PP3 pupils (Year 3) a Mindfulness club that is led by a designated and trained member of our Pre-Prep teaching team.
