Despite damp weather, it has been a sunny day for our 15s pupils (Year 11) who are celebrating outstanding GCSE results.
Harrodian is challenging the national trend by celebrating its best ever tally of 9-7 grades (75 per cent) at GCSE in non-Covid years. The results mirrored our equally impressive A Level grades with the greater majority of students meeting or exceeding expectations.
Fourteen Harrodians achieved a clean sweep of Grade 8/9s and two pupils attained straight 9s across all their subjects. 52 per cent of results were at the top grade of 8 or 9.
Clearly proud of their achievements, Head of Seniors Captain Rob Stewart is full of praise. "We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding success of this year’s GCSE pupils in what is the first return to full public exams since before the pandemic in 2019. Their dedication and hard work have truly paid off and we’ve been pleased to witness a steady improvement of results across the school. None of this success is in isolation and I’m keen to pay tribute to our committed teaching staff and supportive parents in helping pupils take this pivotal step forward in their academic progress. I’m sure all of our GCSE pupils will continue to shine brightly as they move onto their A Level studies. Congratulations to them all!"

Headmaster Mr Hooke also applauds the efforts of our GCSE pupils and adds, "Following the success of our A Level results, it is wonderful to see that our GCSE pupils have also been rewarded with outstanding academic results. There have been so many happy faces today and we look forward to seeing them all back shortly to begin their A Level studies in the Sixth Form."

In her role as Head of Year, Bryn McNaught compliments her year group on their attitude and camaraderie. "I am so proud of this group and all they have achieved. The excitement, relief and pride was palpable this morning, with pupils, parents and teachers all sharing the successes of GCSE results. It has been a journey, but everyone should be so proud of how they have performed."
