11+ 2021 Entry

There are generally 30-35 places available in Year 7. Admission at 11+ (Year 7) is via our 11+ written assessments.

COVID-19 restrictions / ISEB Pre-Test:

Due to continuing Covid-19 restrictions, we have decided to change our assessment procedure for all 11+ (Year 7) applicants for September 2021 entry. All registered applicants will now sit the ISEB Pre-Test instead of our own school assessments. To reduce the risk of further disruption of testing in January 2021, we have brought the testing forward to the second half of the Autumn Term 2020.

The ISEB Pre-Test is a respected and widely used online test for children moving from primary or prep schools to secondary schools. It consists of four sections: Maths, English, Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning. No special preparation is required for the test, which is designed to identify potential as well as attainment. As the test is only taken once by a pupil and results are shared between participating schools, we hope that this will further reduce the need for pupils to take multiple tests and will ease the anxiety about any disruption to learning that pupils may have experienced during Year 5.

Many applicants will be able to sit the ISEB Pre-Test at their current school and therefore safely in their school bubbles, and we have requested that schools ensure that pupils sit the test no later than Monday 7 December 2020.

For applicants whose schools are not able to administer the ISEB Pre-Test, we will be able to host a number of them at Harrodian on Saturday 5 December.

13+ 2022 Entry via Year 7 Pre-assessment

There are generally 12-15 places available in Year 9. Admission at 13+ (Year 9) for Year 7 Prep School candidates is via our 13+ pre-assessment.

Please note that from 2022 entry, any offers made via the 13+ pre-assessment will no longer be conditional on ISEB 13+ Common Entrance results, but conditional on receipt of a satisfactory reference from the candidates’ Prep School requested in the Autumn Term of Year 8. If you are applying for entry in Year 9 for September 2021 and you are at a Prep School, you can only apply via the 13+ Occasional Place Entry.

Covid 19 restrictions / ISEB Pre-Test

Due to continuing Covid-19 restrictions, we have decided to change our assessment procedure for all 13+ (Year 9) applicants for September 2022 entry. All registered applicants will now sit the ISEB Common Pre-Test at their current Prep School instead of coming to Harrodian to sit our own assessments.

The ISEB Pre-Test is a respected and widely used online test for children moving from primary or prep schools to secondary schools. It consists of four sections: Maths, English, Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning. No special preparation is required for the test, which is adaptive and designed to identify potential as well as attainment.

Registered applicants will be able to sit the Pre-Test at their current Prep school and we have requested that schools administer the test to pupils no later than Monday 9 November 2020. Interviews at Harrodian will now be held a week later on Friday 20 November 2020. The full revised timeline can be found below:
