Prefects & Mentoring

We value our campus environment and the fact our community encompasses a wide age range. Our older pupils have a number of opportunities to develop and give back through helping their younger peers. Prefects are appointed in our 15s (Year 11), each one attached to a Pre-Prep or Prep School form in order to assist tutors and provide support and advice for the pupils there.

Our Lower Sixth students are employed as reading buddies and as peer mentors, allocated to individuals identified as struggling socially or organisationally. Finally, a team of Upper Sixth students are selected as Senior Prefects, serving under a Head Boy and Head Girl. They provide leadership for our student body, also helping to run events and representing the school across a number of key events.

Mentors are Senior School pupils selected in our 15s (Year 11) and trained by Lower Sixth Form students to provide one-to-one mentoring and coaching on a range of issues - friendships, fitting in and belonging, communication and social skills and behaviour, self confidence and self-esteem. Any pupil can be assigned a mentor by Form Teachers if they believe the child would benefit from extra support.
