Welcome to Harrodian Prep School where we provide a friendly and stimulating environment for boys and girls aged between 8 -13.
We are determined to deliver a diverse and exciting curriculum and to meet high academic standards throughout Key Stages 2 and 3 and we use specialist subject teachers to achieve this.
Our commitment to academic excellence is coupled with outstanding pastoral care. Pupils are nurtured throughout each year of the Prep School.
We pay extra attention at the vital transition points that occur between our PP3s (Year 3) and 8s (Year 4) and between our 10s (Year 6) and 11s (year 7).
Harrodian Prep teachers take great pride in knowing all of the pupils in their charge and in getting the best out of them, whatever their strengths and abilities - academic, sporting, cultural or leadership.
We also believe strongly in encouraging pupils to develop an interest in the world around them and to be inclusive and caring of others.
Personal, Social and Health Education lessons are integral to the curriculum along with assemblies and events featuring guest speakers.
Harrodian Prep School is divided into two parts run by a leadership team of three: Lower Prep consists of the 8s, 9s, and 10s at Key Stage 2 (years 4 to 6) and Upper Prep, made up of 11s and 12s at KS3 (Year 7 and 8).
The Head of Lower Prep manages the overall academic and pastoral care of the 8s, 9s, and 10s. Meanwhile in the Upper Prep, 11s and 12s benefit from both an Academic and a Pastoral Head to guide and support them through the crucial KS3 years.
Our ‘two-in-one’ approach to managing and leading Harrodian Prep allows us to meet and develop the needs of the differing age groups within the School as well as creating a cohesive and harmonious atmosphere in which happy, confident pupils can flourish.
