Achieving for Children - "Helping Children with..." webinar series

Achieving for Children’s Mental Health Support Teams are delivering a series of webinars for parents of primary aged children. The ‘Helping Children with …’ series of webinars will cover a range of common difficulties experienced by children and will aim to share evidence-based strategies to help parents and carers support their children with these difficulties. Please click HERE for a list of forthcoming events from March to June 2024 and to access sign up links.

Car Share Scheme

We are very keen to make the School a safer and more environmental friendly place for all. One way we can do this is to reduce the amount of traffic around the School.  Please look to support our car share scheme which reduces the number of vehicles and helps you to share the burden of the daily school run.  If you would like to consider this, please register your interest by clicking here and completing the short questionnaire. We will then be in touch to confirm arrangements and put you in contact with other parents in your area.

For further details, please contact Captain Rob Stewart, Head of Seniors (for his email please access the staff list by clicking here).

Communications

Effective communication is vital in running a successful school. Harrodian uses several channels and each of these fulfils a different purpose.  A downloadable guide has been produced (see below) to help parents navigate our communications systems, and to access the information they need on our internet, intranet, parent portal, alumni community website, news hub, social media accounts or elsewhere.

Dress Code

There is no fixed uniform at Harrodian but a set of guidelines that allows pupils a degree of flexibility and the ability to express their own individuality.  However, pupils must be work smart and adhere to the dress code. We also request that all items of clothing are properly labelled with name tags. All guidelines are printed in the pupil planners and Parent Handbooks - the latter of which is available on our parent portal Edulink (see below).

Heather Locke, Deputy Headmistress and Director of Studies who oversees our Heads of Department team is always available to contact should you need any further advice.

Pastoral
Form Teachers dedicate much of their time to the personal wellbeing and development of pupils in their class and are the first port of call with regards to any pastoral concerns. Beyond that, there are experienced and accessible Heads of Year and Pastoral Leads in each of the Schools, on-site nurses and counsellors and a team of trained Mindfulness practitioners.
