Celebrations and Destinations 2023

Harrodian is delighted to announce impressive sets of GCSE and A Level results for this year.

A LEVELS
With 67% of all grades at A*/A and 89% at A/B, A Levels Results day was a happy day for much of the cohort. 4 students achieved straight A*s (13 between them) whilst 35 were awarded straight A*/A grades.

Keen to acknowledge our students’ success, Headmaster Mr Hooke says, “This year group has been incredibly accomplished, not only in their studies and examination results but also in their interests and aspirations, making them such well-rounded and engaging individuals. I would very much like to thank their parents, teachers and all those at Harrodian who have worked hard to support them. Congratulations to them all!”

The Class of 2023 Harrodian students are now off to study at leading universities in the UK and around the world, on courses ranging from Engineering at Cambridge to Economics at the University of Chicago, and Psychology at Exeter to Neuroscience at King’s College London.  The quality of their destinations is impressive, and the broad range of their course choices reflects the continuing diversity of our students’ interests and passions.

shaking hands

Head of Sixth Form Alison Heller adds, “We are delighted with these outstanding results - our students should be exceedingly proud of what they have achieved during their time in Sixth Form. That so many of them have already been accepted to their first-choice university is a testament to their hard work, commitment, and determination."

Harrodian has challenged the national trend by celebrating its best ever tally of 9-7 grades (75 per cent) at GCSE in non-Covid years. The results mirrored our equally impressive A Level grades with the greater majority of students meeting or exceeding expectations.

Fourteen Harrodians achieved a clean sweep of Grade 8/9s and two pupils attained straight 9s across all their subjects. 52 per cent of results were at the top grade of 8 or 9.

Clearly proud of their achievements, Head of Seniors Captain Rob Stewart is full of praise. "We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding success of this year’s GCSE pupils in what is the first return to full public exams since before the pandemic in 2019. Their dedication and hard work have truly paid off and we’ve been pleased to witness a steady improvement of results across the school. None of this success is in isolation and I’m keen to pay tribute to our committed teaching staff and supportive parents in helping pupils take this pivotal step forward in their academic progress. I’m sure all of our GCSE pupils will continue to shine brightly as they move onto their A Level studies. Congratulations to them all!"
