A victory over a strong Highgate side has taken Harrodian's First XI football team to the last 16 of the ISFA Cup where they will face Epsom College. Here we reflect on another year of excellent progress for our footballers.
The performance of Harrodian’s boys’ football First Team has been on a steady upward curve for some time and this year’s squad have sustained the remarkable progress of recent years with their results in 2024. The First 11 remain unbeaten this season and this week reached the last 16 of the prestigious Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) Cup with an impressive 5-1 victory over Highgate.
The result was built on consistent teamwork all over the pitch. Solid defenders at the back, a midfield combining tough tackling ball winners alongside creative passers and tricky, strong wide players and hard running strikers with a good eye for goal and strong finishing power. The team will face Epsom in their next tie and will be fired up by the potential reward of a place in the quarter finals.
Harrodian's Head of Football, Mr Arash Soleimani is delighted with the performance of the team: 'The last 16 includes four previous winners of the tournament and other schools with a long heritage of football success,' he says. 'We have a much smaller pool to choose from so we're very proud of the teamwork and commitment the whole squad has shown to make it this far.'
