As part of learning about World War II, our PP3 pupils had the chance to experience being evacuated! Dressed as 1940s evacuees, they travelled to Alresford station in Hampshire where they were met by a 'Billeting Officer'.

They then boarded a steam train and travelled along the Watercress Line deep into the countryside.  While on the train they wrote postcards home to their parents.

They stopped at Ropley Station where they participated in a 'Make Do and Mend' and 'Rationing and Pre-Decimal Money,' workshop. As well as eating their lunch, they were also able to explore the area around the station and visit a 'Dig for Victory' allotment.
