Mild weather arrived just in time to make the 14s GCSE group's first experience of geography field studies a comfortable experience.
Fifty students learnt about the living and non living factors that make up the various ecosystems in Epping Forest..
Under the instruction of experts from Epping Forest Field Studies Centre they learnt how to use specialist equipment to measure and record features of the forest including vegetation cover, tree height and light intensity.
Along the way they got to enjoy the beauty and serenity of beech and birch woods that are just nine kilometres from the heart of the City of London.
