Carla and her team of green-fingered Harrodian parents and pupils have been awarded the Richmond in Bloom's Schools' Gold Award and trophy for their inspirational gardening. The annual prize celebrates the different ways in which schools use their surroundings to encourage environmental awareness and conservation. The judges visited a number of schools but were most impressed by Harrodian for maximising a small allotment space and displaying such a variety of planting. To say thank you for the help and support she receives, Carla invited parents and staff to a tea party on the allotment. A selection of produce, made from fruits, vegetables, spices and herbs, all grown on site, were available to sample and savour.
