In ten days time, months of hard work comes to fruition when Grease opens in the Harrodian School Theatre. We asked Director, Sam Sugarman how rehearsals are going.

Grease, its Director Mr Sam Sugarman tells me, is officially, the biggest production in Harrodian's history. Nine months in the making, the production boasts not just a vast cast of 65 but a huge production team of set designers and builders, a technical team handling lighting and sound, costume designers and stage managers, choreographers Alice Jarvis and Olivia Davies, not to mention the combined forces of the entire music department led by Musical Director, Kay Le Doujet.

'It's been an epic effort,' says Mr Sugarman, above. 'And we're really seeing the kids' hard work paying off in their musical and dance performances. Danny and Sandy are looking good. We've got great ensemble pieces from the T-birds and the Pink Ladies and some brilliant solo showcases too.'

Mr Sugarman is especially excited by the set. 'The backdrop looks like a huge neon jukebox,' he says. 'And the set for Greased Lightning features half a car!'

Mr Sugarman is looking forward to the production opening for its three-night run on 6th February and is encouraging the audience to get into the spirit of the production by joining in. 'We have Grease-themed refreshments in the foyer and we're looking forward to an audience dressed in Fifties outfits all singing along.'
