Harrodian Film: A Special Place to Learn

Harrodian's new short film aims to encapsulate the ingredients that make Harrodian a Special Place to Learn in around three minutes

A new Harrodian film makes its debut on our website today . The movie sprang out of a request from Jo Rattigan, head of our Admissions team back in August. With access to Harrodian’s beautiful buildings and grounds restricted and open days and tours cancelled, could the Communications Team, Ms Rattigan wondered, produce something encapsulating what makes Harrodian stand out as a school in an engaging on-line film for prospective parents?

Informally entitled, ‘A Special Place to Learn’ the ‘short’ is our response to Ms Rattigan's brief. Shot in bubble conditions on a single day in October, it aims to illustrate what the title says. In a narrative lasting just under three minutes, five articulate Upper Sixth Formers itemise their favourite Harrodian’s ingredients – our lovely grounds and buildings, our academic approach, our extracurricular variety, our friendly and close-knit community – alongside lovely action sequences shot by our favourite trusty cameraman, Matt Dunkinson.

We’re confident the film provides the sort of true-to-life insights into Harrodian life that our Admissions team needs. We hope it also gives current Harrodians of all kinds – pupils, teachers and parents – a timely lift, reminding us that, while times are tough and access is limited for the moment, the special Harrodian spirit is alive and kicking and our shared sense of community and purpose both remain as strong as ever.

We welcome feedback on the film to website@harrodian.com
