Three Harrodian boys’ teams – the Under 11s (U11s) the U13s and the U15s – enjoyed victories in an epic week of cup football in the first week of October.

Perhaps the most dramatic of the wins was the U15s’ crunch home game against Latymer in the ISFA cup on 3rd October. The team showed huge heart in coming back from a 4-2 deficit to square the tie and take the game to extra time, finally settling the match with two goals in the last five minutes to win 6-4.

The U11s made their Surrey Cup debut on the same day with a First-Round tie against Manor Park and took to it like old hands, playing some brilliant football and running out 9-1 winners.

The U13s had the toughest challenge, playing two cup games in a week. First up was a tough Surrey cup victory against Northcote Lodge on 30th September which was finally settled by a penalty shootout. Then a long journey to Kent saw them take on Farringtons School in the ISFA Cup. The U13s delivered their best performance of the season against tough opponents and won 5-2.

Meanwhile, our runners were pursuing their own cup success by taking a trip to a surprisingly dry Harrow school for the first round of the English Schools Athletics Association Cross Country Cup. The Junior (11s + 12s) girls qualified for the second round in November by finishing second. The Junior boys and Intermediate (13s+14s) girls teams finished 4th and the Intermediate boys team finished 5th, all performing with great courage and determination.
