Pre-Prep and Lower Prep children enjoyed celebrating the Queen's Jubilee on the last day before half-term, especially the visit of HRH - Her Royal Harrodian...

Pre-Prep and Lower Prep children have dedicated some of their day to celebrating the Queen's Jubilee by drawing and painting portraits of her, making crowns or playing pin the tail on the corgi!

Her Majesty the Queen made a very special visit to the French garden and putting green, arriving on the school golf buggy much to the delight of a very excited audience!

After being introduced by Mr Hooke, the children sang the national anthem and waved their union jack flags.

They then sat down in their class groups and Her Majesty said a few words. She thanked them for welcoming her to Harrodian and complimented the school on its beautiful grounds.

She was then escorted on a tour to see the flowers planted by some of our PP3 allotment children in the plant boxes along the Pre-Prep drive. The seeds were sent to the school by Superbloom - a special event to mark the Jubilee taking place at the Tower of London from June to September this year. 20 million seeds have been planted in the moat of the tower in her honour. Our PP3 children will also be visiting Superbloom after half-term as part of the Jubilee celebrations.

The children enjoyed a tea party with some music and dancing. They were treated to some fabulous jubilee cupcakes made and donated by Harrodian parent, Mrs Khanna from The Cake Whisperer (to access the instagram account, please click here @cake_whisperer_chelsea).

Meanwhile children in our 11s and 12s were given some Strawberries & Cream ice cream on their way out of their examinations. Some of them may also have been lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Queen, waving from afar!
