Human Forms

At the beginning of the Summer Term, our 14s begin their second coursework project on the human form, with a focus on technical art skills such as colour theory, painting techniques and composition. As a source of inspiration they visited All Too Human at the Tate Britain last week.

The exhibition celebrates the painters in Britain who strove to represent human figures, their relationships and surroundings in the most intimate of ways. It features artists including Lucian Freud and Francis Bacon alongside rarely seen work from their contemporaries including Frank Auerbach and Paula Rego.

Many of the exhibited artists lived or live in London, drawn to the multicultural capital from around the world. The students spent time drawing and photographing the wide range of work on show, leaving inspired and ready to start their new project!
