After their Saturday training seessions Harrodians from the 13s, 14s and Lower Sixth are well prepared for their Duke of Edinburgh Practice Exhibitions in April and May

Thanks to the welcome arrival of the pop up, erecting a tent isn't usually the challenge it once was. But so bad was the weather for the Duke of Edinburgh Saturday  training sessions on 29th February that Harrodian entrants to Bronze, Silver and Gold awards from the 13s, 14s and Lower Sixth were obliged to practise putting up their tent in a corridor or a classroom.

Spirits were high despite the rain and, with the help of instructors from Activ Adventures, pupils were soon pitching themselves into a variety of sessions including First Aid, map reading and camp craft. A break in the weather later in the day allowed them to get outside to practise using their camping stoves.

All three groups are now set for their Practice Expeditions in April and May when they will be able to put theory into practice hopefully in slightly less hostile conditions.

All details of the expeditions can be viewed on the Harrodian website. Please do remind yourself of the dates by following this link.
