Every Wednesday after school, Madame Any runs a Mindfulness Club in our Senior Studio. This week she took some pictures of the children participating in a Body Scan, followed by a Breathing Bodies exercise with soft, cuddly toys, above. Both activities were so calming and relaxing that a couple of the children even dozed off!

Mindfulness provides you with the tools to create headspace and to better appreciate living in the moment

Madame Any

Madame Any is a passionate advocate of the programme and insists that, 'Mindfulness provides you with the tools to create headspace and to better appreciate living in the moment. It gives you fantastic skills that you can then apply to all areas of your life.' She is looking forward to expanding our Mindfulness programme in the Prep School next year, as well as continuing her PP3 club.

Mindfulness was introduced to our Sixth Form students about five years ago by Drama Teacher, Ms Farrow. Since then Captain Stewart, Head of Seniors, has extended the programme throughout the school via dedicated courses, clubs and parts of timetabled lessons.  Parents have also had the opportunity to learn some mindfulness techniques on a 'Mindful Parenting' course with Louis Weinstock  and staff have also had the chance to gain an accredited teaching qualification with the organisation Mind with HeartThe school now has 8 dedicated teachers of mindfulness who are passionate about encouraging active participation both within our community and assisting organisations outside it.
