A Passion for Fashion

This year's Charity Fashion Show was yet another triumph! Expertly organised by our Harrodian Parents' Association and Events Committee, an impressive total of £2,000 was raised for the charity Resurgo Spear, an organisation that prepares young people from disadvantaged backgrounds for the workplace, and trains employers to get the best out of them.

Over one hundred pupils were involved from PP3 to the Lower Sixth, some acting as models, others as stylists, compères and members of the backstage and front-of-house teams. A large number of them took to the stage and had great fun strutting their stuff along the pink easigrass catwalk whilst modelling clothing and accessories loaned for the event by local independent retailers, fashion designers and Harrodian parents who work in the industry.

Our Head Boy, Head Girl and their deputies hosted the evening in turns whilst also modelling some on-trend fashions.

There were also two brilliant dance interludes provided by our Senior Dance Troupe (a group of 14s and 15s pupils) with their rendition of Madonna's 'Vogue' and Woodkid's 'Run Boy Run'.

Much to the delight of the children in the audience, a surprise finale to the show featured some familiar faces. A number of their teachers were good sports and braved the catwalk - Madame Any worked the stage in her leather jacket and shades, Mr Hooke and Mrs Locke performed a double act and Mr Lineker added some high-octane drama dressed as Freddie Mercury!

Harrodian parents very generously donated all the prizes for a fashion-themed raffle, and winners were picked out by Stephanie Rad, a former Harrodian pupil and professional model.

Pop-up shops selling clothing and accessories from local fashion houses were located in the library and other classrooms around the Main Hall.

Here is a list of the clothing modelled with links to their fashion websites:

A huge thank you to all those who were involved and supported this event.
