This year's Pre-Prep Christmas show, Pull Your'elf Together - it's Christmas!, was funny, festive and full of 'elf-confident performances! The story centred around a positive and inclusive message that everyone should be together at Christmas, sharing love and kindness, and that we are all deserving of lovely things!
Our PP3 children played the main characters and lead narrators, most of whom were elves getting things ready during the 24 hours that Santa and Mrs Claus were delivering presents. Each of the kind things that the elves prepared in their absence was turned into a song and dance performed by each of the Pre-Prep classes. They decorated all the Christmas trees with giant baubles (PP2H), wrapped presents for them (PP2R), cooked a full Christmas dinner with the all the veggies (PP1A), lost a run-away turkey for dinner and made pigs in blankets instead (PP1B), prepared gingerbread men for dessert (Reception D) and finally it was the robins (Rec C) who showed Mr and Mrs Claus on their return what they had all done to get Christmas ready for them and make it a day they would never forget!
With word puns and cracker-style jokes galore, the show featured an 'Efl and Safety officer, Stocking Exchange City Elves, and a runaway turkey amongst others! Well-known pop songs were re-written with new lyrics for the purpose of the show and much to the amusement of the audience. Musical highlights included 'Wrap Wrap Baby' (to the tune of 'Ice Ice Baby') performed by the presents in PP2R, 'We Go Together' from Grease sung by the baubles to the Christmas trees, Spice Girls 'Wannabee' and 'all I want, really, really want is gingerbread' performed by the Gingerbread men (Reception D). A fantastic finale song that reinforced the Christmas message closed the show and there wasn't a dry eye in the house.
Pull Yourelf Together was the result of a brilliant team effort and a big thank you to the following people: MIss Daisy MacKay, director, script-writer and photographer, music production by Mrs Kerry Sampson, lighting by Ed Scragg, sound by Lucy White, and Ms Georgina Cassidy for her piano accompaniment.
