Our new competition invites pupils from 13s to the 6th Form to create a design for a T-Shirt which ‘expresses and celebrates Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at Harrodian'

Last month our 15s Equality Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) student group partnered with Mr Benjamin and Ms Zanotti to ‘flag up’ the value and importance of inclusivity at Harrodian by making and flying a beautiful replica of Chris Ofili’s ‘Union Black’ above the school, see our banner above.

Now the same dynamic team is encouraging Harrodians to get involved in its ongoing campaign of consciousness-raising by taking part in a Senior school design competition.  The ED&I  Competition invites pupils from 13s to the 6th Form to create a design for a T-Shirt which ‘expresses and celebrates a vision of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in a striking way’. The winning T-Shirt design will be printed and sold with all funds going to the winner’s chosen charity. The full rules and guidelines are at the bottom of the page.

‘It will get people thinking about what Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity should mean at Harrodian: about what the things we need to change are and how we can change them

Artie, Harrodian 15s pupil

Artie, who joined fellow 15s pupil and EDI Group member, Nika, to announce the competition at Senior Assembly this week, believes the competition is a good way of raising awareness. ‘It will get people thinking about what Equality, Diversity and Inclusion should mean at Harrodian,’ she says. ‘About what the things we need to change are and how we can change them.’

The launch of the competition also marks the publication of a new Harrodian statement prepared by Mr Benjamin which sets out why the school values Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. You can read it by following the link above.

Competition entrants have until 26th November to gather their inspiration, thoughts and ideas and to create and submit their T-shirt design.  We can’t wait to see what you come up with.
