This year's annual dance show, "Movin' Through Time", took the audience on a musical journey through the decades of the 20th century.
The show featured 90 students, ranging from the 8s (Year 4) to Sixth Form, performing a mix of year-group dances choreographed by Harrodian teacher Ms. Alice Jarvis, alongside smaller group and solo performances created by the pupils themselves. The evening began with dance numbers set to music from the 1900s and progressed through the decades, culminating with hits from the 2000s.
Some of the well-known hits included Nancy Sinatra's 'These Boots Are Made for Walkin'' from the '60s, danced to by our 10s club; Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now' from the '70s, danced to by the Boys Club; and 'Pack Up Your Troubles,' a World War I anthem of the 1910s, danced to by our 9s club.
The theme of the show was music from the 20th century and each group (or soloist) danced to a song from a specific decade
Smaller groups danced to the likes of Nat King Cole ('40s), Elvis Presley ('60s), Abba ('70s) and Michael Jackson ('80s/'90s). To view the full programme, find the link at the bottom of the page.
Dance teacher Ms. Alice Jarvis, and mastermind behind the event, is very proud of all the efforts of her dancers and their unwavering hard work. Having specialised in Musical Theatre she knows all about the art of interpreting music to tell stories through dance sequences and her experience showed in the consistently high quality performances.
She was particularly impressed with all those students who stepped in at the last minute to cover for those who were ill on the day or who performed unplanned solos due to their partners being unwell. 'The show must always go on, and Harrodian pupils are a true example of this - I am always so impressed by their commitment,' she says.

A special mention goes to our 8s (Year 4) Dance Club, who performed to 'Help!' by The Beatles. For many, it was their first time on the Harrodian stage, and they did an outstanding job, energised by the enthusiastic clapping and cheering from the audience. The Boys Dance Club was another highlight—seeing a record number of 14 boys dancing together on stage was truly amazing!
A big shout-out to one of our Sixth Formers too, who not only delivered two incredible solos but also stepped in to cover for a student who was unwell that day. Last but not least, the Staff Dance closed the show with 'Bye Bye Bye' by NSYNC. The audience loved it, and the students couldn't stop cheering! Well done to Mr. Maybury, Mr. Almond, Soares (from the Café), Mr. Saller, Mr. O'Shea, Ms. Lomax, Ms. Magoga, and Mr. Rodricks for their legendary performances. (See the video below)
