The 13s and 14s prepared for their DofE expeditions this month with the Bronze group walking in Surrey and the Silvers canoeing on the Thames as DofE co-ordinator, Mr Holder explains.
The Bronzes completed a two day, one night hike in the Surrey Hills. They tackled the weekend with great enthusiasm and grew in confidence and ability over the weekend, showing strong campcraft skills and hiking independently on the second day.
The Silvers, (not shown in this story) canoed on a three day, two night expedition on the Thames in the Oxfordshire/Berkshire area. They covered many miles and showed great teamwork over the three days.

Can I wish the best of luck to these two groups with their qualifying expedition during the first weekend in July and remind pupils and their parents that participants should be aiming to complete their DofE accounts this academic year. (It's all too easy to let the task drift if it's left to the summer or beyond!).Should pupils require any support with this, they can attend DofE club on Monday lunchtime and meet me or Mr Davies in the ICT suite between 1.00 and 1:30pm.
