Join Art History Sixth Formers on their whistle-stop pre-Christmas gallery tour and read their reviews of the best current London shows 

Art Historians at Harrodian are lucky enough to have access to some of the world's great art collections on their doorstep and this term they have been making the most of the re-opening of the city's galleries.

Gathered on this blog are a few snaps of the Upper Sixth's day out last week when they set out on a trip led by Head of Art History, Ms Hannah Kroes, on a revision tour of some of the great art they have studied in their A Level.

This took them first to Tate Britain to remind themselves of Turner and other nineteenth century painters.

Then they were off to Trafalgar Square to see the Rembrandts and post impressionists in the National Gallery and finally to the British Museum where they looked at controversial imperial acquisitions including the Benin Plaques.

On the way, they took time out for some photo portraits of their own and to admire the Christmas lights.
