Pre-Prep Blog: In praise of Prefects

Harrodian Pre-prep prefects

Pre-Prep classes are each assigned two prefects from our GCSE year who spend two of their early morning registration times helping out in the classroom.

Becoming a prefect takes considerable time and effort on the part of pupils from our 15s age group, who have to complete a written application, attend an interview and gain the support of their teachers. As there are always considerably more applicants than places, there's serious competition for the roles on offer.

Prefects may listen to children reading, work with small groups on Mathematics or Literacy tasks, or any other activities the class teacher may plan for them.

Prefects are certainly a special asset to the Pre-Prep department and they contribute enormously to the family atmosphere and spirit of togetherness that makes Harrodian a special place in which to learn.
